Performance Impacts of the LightSquared ATC Reference Stations on High Precision GPS Receivers

Knute Berstis, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

This presentation reviews the LightSquared-GPS interference concerns, then discusses the results of NOAA's testing of high precision receivers during live sky tests in early 2011 and chamber tests in late 2011. The briefing suggests that use of a legacy "robust" antenna is not sufficient to mitigate the LightSquared lower 10 MHz signal for all high precision receivers.
