National Space-Based Positioning, Navigation, and Timing
Advisory Board
Tasks
To help inform its policy deliberations, the National Executive Committee tasks the Advisory Board to study targeted issue areas and provide recommendations back to the committee. The National Executive Committee issues the tasks through the National Coordination Office and NASA, the sponsor of the Advisory Board.
At their August 2012 meeting, the Advisory Board discussed a possible new study topic from the National Executive Committee related to the economic benefits of GPS. At this time, the task is still in coordination within the National Executive Committee and has not been formally approved.
