Personnel
The National Coordination Office (NCO) is the permanent staff of the National Executive Committee for Space-Based Positioning, Timing, and Navigation (NEC-SBPNT). It is a central resource within the government for GPS policy information.
The office is led by a director and deputy director and includes a cadre of senior advisors from the National Executive Committee agencies.

Responsibilities
The National Coordination Office is responsible for collecting GPS-related information from multiple federal agencies to support the operations of the National Executive Committee, including interagency coordination, consensus development, and issue resolution. The NCO maintains the Five-Year National Plan for Space-Based Positioning, Timing, and Navigation and assesses its implementation by the member agencies. The NCO organizes meetings of the National Executive Committee and its Executive Steering Group. It also tracks the implementation of tasks and working groups established by those bodies. The NCO maintains the GPS.gov website as the central pillar of the U.S. GPS outreach campaign. It also develops and disseminates other GPS educational materials.

Operational Support
The Department of Commerce (DOC) serves as the host of the National Coordination Office, providing office space, equipment, information technology services, financial and other administrative support. The member agencies on the National Executive Committee provide the personnel on rotational assignments to the office. The Departments of Defense (DOD) and Transportation (DOT) provide annual funding for travel, contracting, and other activities.
